Mr. Karl Peet leads CBI’s global engagement strategy on nature-positive infrastructure, renewable energy, and wildfire resilience, reflecting technical knowledge and cultural imperatives of Indigenous communities. He is assessing strategies to expand dialogue and action on wildfire resilience and recovery through UN conventions on climate change, biodiversity and desertification, through a joint work programme and a technical expert group. Mr. Peet has led science-based analyses to meet targets of the Sustainable Development Goals and Paris Agreement, including in peer-reviewed publications on 1.5ºC transport pathways (cited in the IPCC AR6) and transport ‘quick wins’ (for the UK Department for International Development).
