The Organization of American Firefighters (OAF) is the world’s largest organization for international cooperation among firefighting organizations. Founded by and for firefighters in the Americas, it is comprised of 31 Active Members and 7 Adhering Members representing firefighting organizations from 13 countries and, through them, more than 1.5 million volunteer, paid, military, and law enforcement firefighters. OBA pursues the professionalization of local fire departments, thereby also contributing to disaster risk reduction in communities across the continent.
