Dr. Alejandra G. Martínez is a scientific researcher with extensive knowledge in vulnerability, adaptation, and disaster risk management. She has experience designing and leading research projects related to environmental issues and the geophysical environment. Dr. Martínez currently is part of the “Geophysics and Society” department at Instituto Geofísico del Perú. This group analyzes the human dimension associated with major geophysical events, mainly those related with climate variability and change, including wildfires.
