Dr. Fantina Tedim is the Scientific Coordinator of the Centre for Geography and Spatial Planning Studies. She had been a member of the Expert Group for the evaluation of 2022 wildfires, established by the Minister of Internal Affairs. After the 2018 publication of the paper “Defining extreme wildfire events,” the European Commission adopted the concept of extreme wildfires. Dr. Tedim takes a multi-risk approach and specializes in the social dimension of wildfires (before, during, and after fires), with particular focus areas in vulnerability, resilience, communication, recovery, and preparedness. She is also an Associate Editor of the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction.
