Dr. Marijana Kapovic Solomun is an environmental scientist and researcher specializing in land degradation, soil health, and sustainable land management, with a strong focus on forestry and nature-based solutions. Her work integrates ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, and climate change adaptation, bridging scientific research with policy and governance processes at national and international levels. Dr Solomun’s research examines the drivers and impacts of land degradation including wildfire, soil contamination, and ecosystem change, using interdisciplinary approaches that combine field data, spatial analysis, and policy analysis. Her interests include sustainable land management, wildfires, forest and soil ecology, ecosystem restoration, and the application of nature-based solutions to enhance resilience and support evidence-based environmental decision-making.
