Mr. Amos Chege Muthiuru is a conservation scientist and spatial ecologist specializing in fire ecology, movement ecology and landscape connectivity modeling with over 15 years of wildlife conservation in various landscapes in Kenya and Northern Tanzania. He integrates earth observation data, GIS, statistical ecology, and policy evaluation to address emerging climate related and anthropogenic related risks to natural resources including wildfires and climate change. His work is often at the intersection of policy and academic research. Based at the department of Geography at King’s College London and the Leverhulme Centre for wildfires Environment and society (LCWES), Mr. Muthiuru connects wildfire data, animal movement and socio-ecological data to inform wildfire management and policy development in fire suppressed ecosystems in Southern Kenya and Northern Tanzania.
