ARC Las Vegas spoke with GWC Charter Member, Steve Hawks, Director for Wildfire at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety about how you can prepare your family and your home.
There were a staggering number of wildfires across the United States in 2025, an estimated 77,850, according to the National Interagency Fire Center with 5,131,474 acres burned. Data shows this is much higher than the five and ten year averages.
Hawks talks about how the nonprofit, Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), works with people to prepare their homes for the risk of a fire.
